Measuring Objectivity Factors

The objectivity model presented below is general. Admittedly, it tends to be black and white; where we all know that our reality is actually mottled, swirling, and flowing shades of grey, with rare and precious splashed of color. But, we also know that both open minded and closed minded people do exist anyway.

Open-minded people go out of their way to conform their beliefs to the evidence.

Closed-minded people go out of their way to conform the evidence their beliefs.

Open-minded people objectively consider all evidence whether it supports their claims or not.

Closed-minded people subjectively consider only that evidence that supports their claims, and discount the rest.

Open-minded people have not prejudged a matter or already committed to a stand, and are thus unbiased.

Closed-minded people have prejudged a matter, are already committed to a stand, and are thus biased.

For open-minded, truth redefines their reasoning.

For closed-minded, their reasoning redefines truth.

Open-minded people calmly respond to challenges.

Closed-minded people heatedly react to challenges.
